Aida Caldera-Sanchez

Aida Caldera Sánchez is the head of the European Union, Euro Area and Luxembourg desk at the Economics Department of the OECD leading the team in charge of the preparing the economic surveys, macroeconomic forecasts and structural surveillance. Previously she served as head of the Spain and Ireland desk and led the department work on economic resilience. Earlier, Aida held several positions in the OECD Economics Department including economist for the United States, Mexico and Chile desks.

Prior to joining the OECD in 2009, Aida worked for several leading European organisations doing policy-oriented economic analysis including the European Investment Bank, France’s Central Bank, and the think-tank Bruegel. Earlier on in her career Aida worked in the private sector as a financial analyst.

Aida holds a PhD in economics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, a post-graduate degree in international economics from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and a bachelor degree in quantitative economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
