Anne Sperschneider

Anne Sperschneider was born in Flensburg, Germany. She grew up in Viña del Mar and Osorno, Chile, finishing secondary education in that country. She received her academic training at the Universität Passau, Germany, where she also obtained a Dr. phil. (1997) with a Dissertation on the reception of the hispano-american literature in Germany.

Since January 2012, she is Head of Division Central and South America at the Sponsorship and Network Department of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Bonn, Germany. From 2008 to 2011, she worked as a senior scientific officer at the International Bureau of the BMBF at the Project Management Agency DLR in Bonn. Prior to that, she was part of the EU-team at the Department for International Cooperation of the Comisión Nacional de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (CONICYT, 2007-2008) in Santiago de Chile. During her time as the Director of the DAAD Information Centre in Santiago (2001 to 2007), she also worked as a DAAD-lecturer for European Literature at the Departamento de Literatura of Universidad de Chile. As a journalist, she worked at newspapers of the Schleswig-Holsteinischer Zeitungsverlag in Flensburg, from 1997 to 2001.
