Gabriel Lopez

Regulatory Affairs Director, Microsoft,

Gabriel Lopez career spans academia, start-ups and top tech companies and starts in 1997 as the first attorney at NY based start-up telecom Company (RSL Communications) in Mexico City. Gabriel then joined, at the time to one of the largest Telecom operators in the world, AT&T Corp. as Regulatory Affairs manager and specialized in international transactions and regulation for the Americas. He then joined Nokia Corp., at the time the largest mobile devices manufacturer globally as Senior Legal Counsel and Government affairs Director for Latin America and after supporting broadly the adoption of mobile technology in the region he then moved to Spain. There he expanded his role and performed several leadership roles at Nokia in Europe, including Legal Head for South-Europe overseeing key European regulatory and legal projects.

Gabriel’s stint at Microsoft started as Attorney and then as Government Affairs Director for Spain, he currently collaborates with several academic institutions such as the Universitat de Valencia and Think Tanks (Fundación FIDE) and a Proposer to the “Responsible AI” at the European Cooperation in Science & Technology.
