Hans van Steen
Head of Unit, European Commission DG ENERGY,
Hans van Steen is Head of Unit in the European Commission, DG Energy. He holds a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Århus, Denmark.
Mr van Steen has been with the European Commission since 1989. He was the Head of Unit for Renewable Energy between June 2006 and August 2013, when he became Head of Unit in DG Energy with responsibilities for International Energy Relations and Enlargement. In this capacity he is notably in charge of the follow-up and the implementation of the actions set out under the external dimension of the Energy Union Strategy.
