Kar-yiu Wong

Prof. Kar-yiu Wong is Professor at the Department of Economics, the University of Washington, USA. He founded the Research Center for International Economics at the University of Washington and the Research Center for International Economics at the University of International Economics, Beijing, China, and has been serving as their directors. He has also been the founding President of the Asia-Pacific Economic Association since its inception. He was chosen to be a Chang Jiang (Cheung Kong) Scholar by the Ministry of Education, China in 2008. He is the editor-in-chief of an international economics journal, China Economic Policy Review. Prof. Wong received his M. Phil. in Economics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1979 and Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University in 1983. He has published many papers on international trade, economic growth and other subjects, written a theory book on international trade and factor mobility, and edited three books on international trade, economic growth, and Asian development.
