Markus Buderath

Development Intern,

Markus Buderath, a German citizen, joined Bruegel in February 2018 as an intern in the Development Team. He previously interned with the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization in Brussels, as well as with the Clingendael Institute in The Hague.

He holds a BA in Liberal Arts & Sciences from Tilburg University and an MA in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from Utrecht University. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he spent one year in Monterrey, Mexico, where he specialized in international relations. Three years later, he returned to Monterrey to conduct research on police reform for his master’s thesis.

Besides being a native German speaker, Markus is fluent in English and Spanish, and has good speaking knowledge of Dutch.
