Nicole heads Oxera’s state aid team. Oxera is an independent economics consultancy with a large state aid practice that works on an extensive number of state aid cases at the cutting edge of the debate. Oxera has an excellent record of helping clients achieve state aid clearance in front of the European Commission and Courts on state aid matters.

On tax state aid matters, we provide economic and financial advice on the application of the OECD guidelines on transfer pricing from the state aid perspective, supporting legal arguments with economic evidence, including assessing the compliance of proposed or agreed tax rulings with state aid rules.

Nicole has in-depth experience advising clients on a diverse range of state aid matters across a number of sectors, including transport, financial services, health, communications and telecoms, energy and sports infrastructure.

She advises clients on a broad range of economic and financial issues in state aid cases, including state aid compliance of tax arrangements, assessments of the market economy operator principle (MEOP), the application of state aid rules for services of general economic interest (SGEI) and the compatibility of aid. She also advises clients on matters relating to state aid compliance more generally. Nicole has frequent speaking engagements and publishes regularly in the leading journal on state aid issues.
