Patrick Graichen

Dr Patrick Graichen is State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

Patrick Graichen studied economics and political science, earning a Ph.D. on the topic of municipal energy policy at the University of Heidelberg.

From 2001 to 2012, he worked at the Federal Ministry of Environment: first in the area of international climate policy, then from 2004 to 2006 as Personal Assistant to the Secretary of State, and from 2007 as Head of the Unit for Energy and Climate Change Policy. The Ministry granted his leave for his work as Deputy Director at Agora Energiewende. In January 2014 he succeeded Rainer Baake as Director of Agora Energiewende.
