Tokiko Shimizu

General Manager for Europe and Chief Representative in London, Bank of Japan,

Ms. Shimizu joined the Bank of Japan in 1987. She has been General Manager for Europe and Chief Representative in London at the Bank of Japan since July 2016. She is now in charge of conducting research on economic and financial conditions of EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) regions.

Prior to this, Ms. Shimizu was General Manager of the Bank’s Takamatsu Branch (2010-2012). She held several other posts at the Bank of Japan, generally relating to financial markets and international relations. In that capacity, she was Deputy Director-General for Asian Affairs in International Department.

Ms. Shimizu holds M.A. in International Policy Studies from Stanford University, and B.A. in Urban Engineering from University of Tokyo.
