After years of low inflation, most economies in the post-Covid-19 era have experienced levels of inflation not seen since the seventies. Central banks have reacted with a massive cycle of monetary tightening. Has the move been successful - is inflation finally conquered? If not, how much more tightening is needed? How different have the inflation and disinflation experiences been in the US and the euro area? What lessons can be learned?
