Angelo Ferrante

Secretary-General, Med-TSO,

Angelo Ferrante is Secretary General of Med-TSO, the Association of the Mediterranean TSOs for electricity (www.med-tso.com) since 1 November 2015.

Graduated in Electrical Engineering at Rome University, he has more than 30-year professional experience in Power Sector.

He joined Terna, the Italian Transmission System Operator for electricity, in 2000: since then, he has covered several managerial positions, mostly in the international activities. From 2005 to 2008, he was Senior Manager for International Co-operation and Project Financing in the Business Development Department, dealing with national and International institutions and stakeholders (including IFIs, TSOs and Regulators). From 2009 to 2015, he was Senior Manager for EU Affairs and International Organizations. In that period, he managed Terna’s participation in the most relevant international sectorial organizations (ENTSO-E, CASC, CORESO, RGI, GO15, MEDGRID, DESERTEC, Med-TSO, and EASE), being in particular very active in ENTSO–E (SDC - System Development, and RDC - Research & Development Committees). He was also in charge for EC-related issues (Regulatory Frameworks, grid codes and R&D strategies).
