Fernando Navarrete

Chief Financial Officer, ICO,

Fernando Navarrete has a degree in Economic Sciences and Business, receiving an extraordinary award in his final year, from the Universidad Complutense, in Madrid (UCM) and is a qualified economist of the Bank of Spain and is presently on leave.

He has finished post-graduate studies in Economics and Finances from the Center for Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI), in Security and Defense from UCM - (Superior Centre for National Defense Studies - (CESEDEN) and has participated in the Program Leadership in Public Management in IESE.

In addition to his professional activity executed until September 2007 in the heart of the Directorate General of Bank of Spain Regulation, Fernando Navarrete has been an editor and member of the drafting board of the magazine Strategy Global and the author of different scientific articles- Among his academic activities, of his most recent should be noted the publication of the book “Transparencia Pública” (Public Transparency) LID editorial, 2007 and in 2008 the receipt of III Prize for Investigation from the Institute of Spanish Public Auditors).

Between 2007 and 2012 he has been the Director of the Area of Economics and Public Policies of the Foundation for Analysis and Social Studies (FAES) and has directed the strategic reports by the foundation “Proposals for a Strategic National Strategy” (2011) and “The Reform of the International Financial System” (2009). In addition, he has been a professor in the Area of Economics on the MBA program of the “Universidad Pontificia de Comillas” and has taught in the University Research Institute Ortega y Gasset.

As Chief Financial Officer, he is responsible for the design and evaluation of the general steps of action policies of the institute, managing the capturing in the market of the necessary resources for the credit activity of the ICO and the coordinator of the institutional and international relationships of the institution.
